Coin Art
Russian Artist Roman Booteen has developed quite a fan-following on Instagram where he shares photos and videos of his masterpieces.
While hand-graved coins alone are cause for fascination, this artist has also added incredible Mechanical elements to his coins too which make the coins a marvel of both engineering and art.
His latest piece is a coin with an intricate carving of a knight and a lady gazing at a dip in the wall. However, there is a hidden delight to the coin. In the video shared by the artist on his Instagram, the shows that the Knight’s sword can actually be removed and then used to push inside a tiny notch at the top of the coin. Doing so open ups a small covering that reveals a golden goblet inside.
Booteen has carved over fifty such coins each a masterpiece. He also carves other things like cigarette lighter carvings which are equally impressive. These videos show some of his pieces.
Check out Boteen’s impressive portfolio on his Instagram for viewing the whole range of his beautiful coins packed with small engineering surprises.

Do you have any coin collectors in the house? My son has been collecting the coins from all of the 50 states for a little while now. He has been keeping his coins in a jar, but now we have found a really fun new coin storage option. There are these really cool new 3D Coin Art banks for storing all of the coins we are saving! (This is a compensated post. I received free product and am being paid for my time in writing this pos. All thoughts are my own.)
What is 3d Coin Art?
The 3D Coin Art is like a combination of a puzzle and a bank and work of art. It is a model that you can build with your coins
3D Coin art was created by International Inc. There are three different models available. We received the Empire State Building model. There is also a model of the American flag and George Washington’s face. The other ones are available on Toys “R” Us.
These 3D Coin art structures are super cool! It has a plastic casing that you fill with coins in different patterns. They come with instructions telling you what order and pattern to use when filling it up. It holds pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters.
We used out big coin jar, but did not have enough quarters to fill it yet. It got my son excited to continue saving and collecting coins to fill up his coin art! Once the structure is complete you close it up and stand it in the provided base.
I have a giveaway for you! This is to win the American Flag 3D coin Art set!
