Another successful raid for “raidalot”: Not so long ago, we used to talk about Talal “raidalot” Shakerchi as being a hedge fund manager who sometimes dabbled in poker. But we have also known for a long time that this “dabbling” is a good deal more expert than almost any other “recreational” player on the planet. Shakerchi won his first SCOOP title in 2012, his second in 2014 and two years later won the SCOOP Main Event. Last night, Shakerchi was at it again, winning the $2,100 2-7 Triple Draw, denying a galaxy of superstars their shot at glory. Joao “Naza114” Vieira was second, Elior “Crazy Elior” Sion was third, Matthew “MUSTAFABET” Ashton was fourth, “RaúlGonzalez” (a former SCOOP champion) was fifth, Luke “lb6121” Schwartz was sixth and Rory “mafews” Matthews was ninth. Shakerchi banked $42,645.76 and continued his exceptional run in SCOOP.

Schwartz and Glaser beaten: Luke “lb6121” Schwartz has five SCOOP titles to his name already, but it’s been a series of near misses this time — at least so far. Schwartz finished third in the $55 buy-in NLO8 last night, which was then chopped between eventual winner “Zadavljugada“, from Russia, and the UK’s “barry_dread”, for close to $13K apiece. The high buy-in version of that event went to Brazil’s “teruliro“, who added a SCOOP title to his two WCOOP victories. teruliro has previously won a NLHE WCOOP title in 2019 and a 5-Card Omaha event in 2016 (and also came runner up in a SCOOP Sunday Warm-Up in 2017), so this was no surprise. Benny “RunGodlike” Glaser made yet another final table but finished fifth.
“Sngwonder” not bad at MTTs either:May 18, 2020 Even as the enormous Main Events got under way in the 2020 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), the exploits of one of PokerStars most popular Twitch streamers stole the headlines. His name is Fintan “easywithaces” Hand, and he’s a SCOOP champion.
- The annual SCOOP 2020 series has already being held at PokerStars.es since 22 March. It will last until 9 April. The players are offered a large guaranteed prize pool in the amount of over €12.
- SCOOP Player of the Series Leader Boards This offer commences on April 30 and runs until May 19, 2020. Every time you play a SCOOP event, you will get points based on your finishing position (see tables here for details). Eligible events are all the events displayed in the Tournament Schedule section of the SCOOP main page.

Austrian crusher at it again: “WATnlos“, based in Austria, is one of the most familiar names at the PokerStars MTT tables, with victories in the Sunday Million and Sunday High Roller to his name. Last night he also added a SCOOP title when he won the $55 NLHE Turbo, skittling through a field of more than 9,200 entries in a matter of six hours. His total haul was $40,639.36, including bounties.

No big deal for “fellatiado”: We last caught up withPokerstars.com
Manuel “fellatiado” Ruivo when he was winning the Sunday Warm-Up and telling us not to make a big fuss about it. That was about a year ago. Ruivo was back at the top of the standings last night in SCOOP-22-H, in which he beat a field of 403 to win $73,414 and his first SCOOP title. Ruivo, who is a Portuguese player currently based in the Netherlands, defeated the former WCOOP winner Andrés “wisopekeño!” González (a Spaniard based in London, UK) heads up.Two up for Ireland: Ireland’s “Consi11” finished fourth behind “com 157” in a huge $1,050 No Limit Hold’em event earlier this week, but went three crucial steps better last night in SCOOP-22-M: $109 NLHE. Ireland’s second victory of this SCOOP series earned Consi11 $46,226.85 after he arranged a heads-up deal with “FoNZ87” of Canada.
Luke “Bit2Easy” Reeves heavily involved in two events
Million dollar chasers: Two tournaments started on Tuesday with $1 million guarantees, and those guarantees were duly smashed. In the $10,300 buy-in High Roller, Charlie “Epiphany77” Carrel leads the last 15, with $272K on the table for the winner. Others still involved include Adrian “Amadi_017” Mateos (third), Wiktor “limitless” Malinowski (fourth), Luke “Bit2Easy” Reeves (fifth) and Mustapha “lasagnaaammm” Kanit (seventh). Mike “goleafsgoeh” Leah is top of the counts in the $1,050 Super Tuesday, where there’s $199,127 up top. Russia’s “Futti18” is alive in both, placed second in the $10,300 and 36th in the $1,050.Schemion aiming for second: The $2,100 buy-in SCOOP-26-H has also created an enormous prize pool, with 310 entries putting $620,000 in the pot. Ole “wizowizo” Schemion leads the last 41 in that one, which also resumes today. Luke “Bit2Easy” Reeves is in third, meaning he’ll restart today in the top five of two massive tournaments.

We’re catching up with a lot of SCOOP winners this year, all happy to share their experiences of winning big.
How about the story of Hungary’s “MarkBang”, who was the first player out of the 5-Card Draw PKO, but re-entered and was then the last man standing. Then there’s “thegodfisher” from Manchester, in the UK, who says he doesn’t have much time to play poker, but still won nearly $100K in one of the big PKO events.Oleg “Fukuruku” Vasylchenko described himself at the beginning of his career as a “poor student looking for ways to make myself a bit richer” and this week, ten years later, won SCOOP-9-H, for $77,273.17. There was a hefty ROI too for Michael “Malicious20” Cottier, who won $9,444.66 in a $2.20 buy-in re-buy tournament. “There were three occasions when I was down to two or three big blinds,” Cottier said.

Last but not least, there’s Dimitrios “papadatos69” Papadatos, who was the first player to be crowned champion during this SCOOP. He runs his family’s supermarket on the beautiful island of Kelafonia, off the west coast of Greece, and relies on tourism for his well-being. This year is obviously very different, which means Papadatos has had more time to play poker — and he won the $11 low edition of Event 4, a No Limit Hold’em freeze-out with $80K guaranteed. He won $15,084, but said: “I know that poker is a game of skill and if I play bigger buy-in tournaments, the regs are going to eat me alive. So I will try to improve by studying poker theory and climb the stakes slowly.”Previous winner interviews:

It’s kind of a miracle that Rui “RuiNF” Ferreira hasn’t won a title in this year’s SCOOP. We’re six days in after all. But Ferreira has certainly been playing a ton and, as of this time yesterday (the latest figures available), Ferreira had cashed 19 times from 74 entries, banking $169,363.48. That is enough to keep him atop the current Player of the Series overall leader board.
Remember, this year there are two phases to the leader board race, one for the first half of SCOOP and one for the second week. Players can win SCOOP tickets from the first part and then cash prizes for the second, specifically $5,000 for the low, $7,500 for the medium and $10,000 for the high. The overall Player of the Series takes an additional $25,000 and a trophy.

COUNTRIES LEADER BOARD
There were first titles on Monday for players from Finland, Belgium and Denmark, with tournament wins spread among 12 different countries on a single day. Four of those titles went to players in the UK, however, which meant Brits extended their lead at the top of the leader board.
Ten titles have gone to Russia, but only six so far to Brazil. They need to pull their socks up. Brazilians have been near the top of every leader board in major series over the past few years, but they’re lagging this time.

Two of the big hits from the earlier days of SCOOP combine into one tournament today as the ever-popular PLO is given extra spice by the addition of rebuys. Those with deep pockets have a $300K guarantee attached to the $530 buy-in edition, while you can dip your toe for $5.50 at the lower end. Prior to that, and kicking off the day, is an intriguing Stud Hi/Lo event. There’s a terrific Stud Hi/Lo tutorial on the game available at PokerStars School.
Guarantees have also now been raised on a heap of events across the festival, so there’s even more money certain to be on the line. Of course, buy-ins have not been touched. It’s just more bang for your buck.
